Poured Concrete in Suffolk County
Poured concrete is the backbone of what Masoncrete Builders does. Slabs, pads, footings, floors, wall caps, walkways and driveways all come down to the same fundamentals: a solid compacted base, accurate forms, the right reinforcement, a good pour and a careful finish. Get those right and concrete lasts through Long Island winters; skip them and it cracks, settles and heaves.
We pour concrete for homes and commercial properties across Suffolk County, from a new backyard slab to repaired commercial walkways and a new garage foundation. One customer, Urszula Wagner Stojek, wrote: "We hired Masoncrete builders to pour foundation for garage and our commercial concrete walkways had to be repaired. They did excellent work."
What we pour
- Slabs and pads: backyard slabs, shed and equipment pads, garage floors. See foundations & slabs.
- Driveways and aprons: see concrete driveways.
- Sidewalks and walkways: see sidewalks & walkways.
- Steps, stoops and landings: see steps & stoops.
- Wall caps and areaway floors pitched to a drain: see drainage.
- Patios: see patios.

How a pour comes together
- Excavation and base. We dig to the right depth and build and compact a stone base so the slab is supported evenly.
- Forms and pitch. Forms are set to grade with a consistent pitch so water drains off instead of pooling.
- Reinforcement. Reinforcement is placed to suit the slab and how it will be used.
- Pour and finish. Concrete is placed, screeded, floated and finished, usually with a broom finish outdoors for traction.
- Joints and edges. Control joints are planned so cracking happens neatly in the joints; edges are tooled clean.
- Curing. New concrete is protected while it cures, and we tell you when it is safe to walk and drive on.
Keeping concrete clean
Existing concrete looking dingy? Our power washing service, with our own power washing truck, cleans driveways, walks and patios and preps them for sealing.
Weather and timing
Temperature and rain both affect a pour. Read our guide to the best time of year to pour concrete on Long Island, and how to protect new concrete from salt and freeze-thaw.
