Concrete Driveway Installation & Replacement in Suffolk County

Your driveway takes more abuse than any other surface on your property: cars, delivery trucks, snow shovels, plows and a long Long Island winter of freezing and thawing. Masoncrete Builders installs and replaces concrete driveways that are built from the ground up to handle it, and finished to look sharp from the street to the garage door.

The old Masoncrete site put it simply: we offer durable, attractive designs to transform any driveway into a long-lasting entrance, with quality craftsmanship tailored to your style. That is still the goal on every driveway we pour.

What goes into a driveway that lasts

Most driveway failures start underneath. Before any concrete arrives we remove the old surface, excavate to the right depth, and build and compact a proper stone base so the slab is supported evenly. Forms are set to give the driveway a consistent pitch so water runs off toward the street or a drain instead of pooling against the garage or the house.

From there we place reinforcement, pour, and finish. Control joints are cut or tooled at planned spacing so the concrete has a place to crack neatly instead of randomly. Edges are tooled clean, and the surface gets a broom finish for traction unless you choose a decorative option.

Driveway, walkway and steps together

Many homeowners replace the driveway, the front walkway and the front stoop at the same time so everything matches. Combining the work into one project also means one crew, one schedule and one cleanup.

Concrete Driveways FAQ

How long before I can drive on a new concrete driveway?
It depends on the mix, the weather and the time of year. Foot traffic usually comes first and vehicles later. We give you specific guidance for your driveway before we leave the job.
Can you replace an asphalt driveway with concrete?
Yes. We remove the asphalt, rebuild the base as needed and pour a new concrete driveway in its place.
Do I need a permit for a new driveway?
Requirements vary by town and by what changes (for example, widening a curb cut). Ask us during your free estimate and check with your town building department.
