Paver projects we build

The base is everything

A paver surface is only as good as what is under it. We excavate to the proper depth, install and compact a stone base in lifts, screed a setting bed and lay the pavers to a string line so courses run straight. Edge restraint keeps the field from spreading, and joints are filled and compacted. That preparation is what keeps pavers flat through Long Island freeze-thaw cycles.

Porcelain vs. concrete pavers

Concrete pavers come in many shapes and colors and suit traditional patterns like herringbone or running bond. Porcelain pavers are large, thin, dense slabs with a modern look. Both appear in the gallery below. If you are weighing pavers against a poured surface, read Stamped concrete vs. pavers.

Pavers FAQ

Why do pavers sink or shift?
Usually because the base was too thin or not compacted. We build the base in compacted layers and install edge restraint.
Can pavers be used for a driveway?
Yes, with a base designed for vehicle loads and pavers rated for driveway use.
Do pavers need sealing?
Sealing is optional for many pavers; it can enhance color and help resist stains. We will advise based on the product you choose.
