Residential and commercial sidewalks
We pour new walks and replace heaved, cracked or trip-hazard sections. On the commercial side, customer Urszula Wagner Stojek told us their "commercial concrete walkways had to be repaired" and that "they did excellent work." For damaged sections that can be saved, see concrete repair.
Walkway materials
- Broom-finish concrete: straight or curved, with tooled edges and control joints.
- Stamped concrete: a decorative pattern for front entries.
- Pavers or porcelain: great for side yards and garden paths, often with a contrasting border.
Done right
Every walkway gets proper excavation, a compacted base, a slight cross-pitch so water sheds off, and joints at planned intervals. Where a walk meets the house we pay attention to drainage so water is carried away from the foundation, sometimes with a stone drip strip. Where the walk meets steps or a driveway, we match heights so there are no trip edges.
